    Responsibilities

     

    This position is a key position on the overall company Finance team as it directly impacts expense and cash flow management. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors.

    •  Working with the Controller, develop and execute purchasing strategies
    • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
    • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
    • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers,
    • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
    • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
    • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
    • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
    • Maintain Purchase Order software
    • Administer on-line purchasing systems
    • Administer on-line travel system
    • Administer on-line car rental system
    • Negotiate corporate rates for hotel usage
    • Maintain and update the travel reimbursement policy and ensure that it is compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Update the mileage reimbursement rate annually – in accordance with AZ state reimbursement rates
    • Coordinate with Controller the annual sales tax exemption letter and ensure that all vendors receive the updated letter
    • Code invoices to appropriate GL account and Cost Center
    • Manage company credit card program
    • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
    • Attend weekly Facilities meeting
    • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials and provide report to Controller
    • Establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance
    • Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors costs
    • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
    • Participate as a member of the EARTHS team
    • Ensure that all policies and procedures follow AZ state and federal purchasing requirements

     

    Qualifications

    • Microsoft Office skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for data manipulation, report generation, and appropriate presentations
    • Proven working experience as purchasing manager
    • Knowledge of AZ State and Federal procurement requirements
    • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
    • Working experience of vendor management, purchasing, and travel software
    • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
    • Solid judgement along with decision making skills
    • Strong leadership capabilities

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration preferred
    • Five years of purchasing experience
    • Certified Purchasing Profession Certificate preferred
