    Responsibilities

    This position is a key member of the Corporate finance team reporting to the Controller who will work closely with key stakeholders to provide technical accounting support (including research and documentation), implement new accounting pronouncements, develop/update and communicate corporate accounting policies, and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including complex accounting transactions, and overseeing the month end close process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform technical accounting research, including the documentation and communication of accounting implications.
    • Key participant in the evaluation, documentation, communication and implementation of new accounting pronouncements impacting the Company (i.e. revenue recognition and leasing)
    • Key contributor in corporate accounting group in maintaining and, where necessary, establishing and documenting effective internal controls and procedures
    • Involvement in the purchase accounting, valuation assumptions and integration of newly acquired companies.
    • Participate in special projects, including acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations and other projects as assigned.
    • Analyze complex Accounts Receivable scenarios in a high volume claims environment.
    • Create and maintain contractual allowance and denial models and post resulting journal entries.
    • Create complex journal entries to record multiple payment/reimbursement methodologies including capitation, fee for service, case rates, percentage of completion, and value based purchasing.
    • Capitalization of fixed assets, review of depreciation methodologies, and impairment of asset analysis.
    • Analyze investments and utilize appropriate GAAP methodology to post valuation adjustments.
    • Review property acquisitions and associated financings and ensure deferred financing costs are captured and amortized appropriately.
    • Review new and existing leases to ensure that deferred rent and the corresponding amortization is appropriately recorded.
    • Create complex allocation models and update to reflect varied cost allocation methodologies (expense vs. revenue based).
    • Analyze leases to determine if they are capital or operating and generate journal entries.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to provide management with accurate and timely financial data to assist in making sound business decisions.
    • Development of system controls to ensure data integrity.
    • Produce accurate and timely financial statements (both GAAP and Regulatory formats)
    • Lead the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
    • Responsible for completeness and accuracy of monthly general ledger reconciliations and analyses.
    • Implementation and maintenance of accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains) to provide efficient means of reporting financial data.
    • Manage the quarterly reviews and annual financial audits providing relevant information to external auditors to enable them to evaluate financial information.
    • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • 5+ years accounting/finance experience
    • 2 years public accounting experience preferred
    • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics/MAS 90/500 or other similar accounting software
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience working with complex spreadsheets
    • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
    • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies.
    • CPA designation preferred but not required
    • FRX and COGNOS reports writing experience a plus.
    • Not-for profit and behavioral health industry experience a plus.
