As a Community Prevention Specialists The successful individual will be responsible for performing outreach activities, implementing the Strategic Prevention Framework, and the State Prevention Framework as outlined per the RFP contract requirements and making referrals when appropriate. Duties per the programs strategic plan include but are not limited to: Outreach, youth development policy change, delivering presentations, training, community organization, capacity building and having a basic understanding of data analysis. The Community Prevention Specialist will also perform other duties as assigned.

• Establish relationships with program sites.
• Conduct recruitment activities.
• Deliver Guiding Good Choices with fidelity.
• Administer pre/post surveys in alignment with cross-site evaluation activities.       
• Complete program documentation activities in alignment with cross-site evaluation activities.
• Meet with prevention manager regularly
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 21 years of age or older
• Bilingual Spanish speaking proficiency skills
• BHT or able to meet requirement with a combination of education and prevention work experience
• Knowledge of science-based prevention models including the risk and protective factors and the community mobilization framework
• Experience in working with high risk youth populations and community members
• Knowledge of behavioral health managed care principles and practices
• Knowledge in utilization of personal computer
• Valid Arizona Driver’s license in good standing
• Able to become CPR/First Aid Certified
• Able to become fingerprint certified in accordance with Arizona Department of Public Safety requirements
• Ability to interact well verbally to the general public by portraying critical thinking and communicating a positive attitude
• Flexibility and ability to work evenings and weekends if the Program Manager deems it necessary to achieve the objectives of the program
• Willing to work with all cultures and sub-cultures that comprise the population of Maricopa County in a non-judgmental and value clear manner
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
