Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  1. Delivers classroom instruction for new hire and existing staff based on regulatory and licensure training requirements, as well as any department-specific evidence based practice training standards, if applicable.
  2. Identifies and monitors staff training needs on a regular basis and makes recommendations for improvement
  3. Provides all new clinical and medical staff with clinical orientation regarding electronic health record (EHR) and documentation systems. Monitors and reviews staff documentation to assure that staff is documenting appropriately.
  4. Employs a variety of learning interventions in response to individual learning styles including instructor-led (classroom and virtual), 1:1 tutoring and online courses.
  5. Develops training plans to resolve inefficiencies in areas where improvement is needed. Ensures competency of trainees at the time the training is offered.
  6. In collaboration with leadership, identifies and provides specific coaching and training to individual clinicians and/or clinical teams on an as-needed basis.
  7. Offers Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  8. Reviews and manages the Learning Management System to ensure that all staff are assigned or enrolled in required trainings and that staff are completing them within required timeframes. Distributes reports to site leadership identifying completion status so that managers may follow up on training completion with staff.        
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of training and learning concepts
  • Experience with development and implementation of training plans and policies and procedures
  • Experience training in the use of EHRs, including NextGen
  • Experience monitoring contract and organizational compliance
  • Knowledge of health care including behavioral health and substance abuse treatment
  • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple on-going projects

  • Comfortable with technology and computer applications including Learning Management Systems, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint
