Responsibilities

Under the Agency’s policies and professional requirements, with oversight from clinical staff, the Families FIRST Case Manager works closely with DCS, collaborative partners and other community resources to streamline services for assigned clients in order to ensure all reasonable efforts are made to remove barriers, alleviate substance abuse and improve the chance for family reunification; works under the direct supervision of the Families FIRST Case Management Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service or Behavioral Health-related area of study OR at least three (3) years of related experience in the field of substance abuse, child welfare or behavioral health;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • Organizational, time management and computer skills Experience completing progress notes
  • Working knowledge of the child welfare/child safety system
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of substance abuse and its effect on families
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to connect clients with, community resources
  • Possess a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Ability to pass the DCS Central registry
  • Qualifying driving record; valid driver’s license and 5-year MVR clearance
  • Spanish speaking preferred, but not required
