Responsibilities

 

 

Assist with the development, maintenance and compliance of Terros’ Health and Safety

 

Program;

Be familiar with health and safety standards including CARF regulations, licensure rules, contractual agreements, and Terros Policy and Procedures;

Provide trainings as necessary to new and existing staff on potential health and safety risks, incident reporting, risk prevention and emergency procedures;

Assist with health and safety education and training for staff and clients on such areas as heat precautions, infection prevention, driver safety, and disability services;

Be knowledgeable about Internal and External Incident, Accident and Death Reporting and provide guidance and technical support to staff when questions arise or assistance is needed;

Provide support and expertise in the areas of health and safety to all members EARTHS team and Terros Health community;

Develop monthly incident reports to the EARTHS team;

Maintain up to date documentation records on safety drills performed throughout Terros, including fire safety and natural disaster.

Assist with keeping Terros’ health and safety policies and procedures current;

Assist with compiling health and safety reports for leadership or regulatory bodies when needed;

Collect data to assist with developing summary reports in areas such as ongoing health and safety evaluations and speeding and fleet maintenance;

Manages the Vehicle Hotline process

Provide assistance in the areas of policy development, quality of care requests from RBHA, & performance improvement planning;

Work with HR to monitor staff compliance with being current on trainings including Infection Control and Prevention, First Aid, CPR and fingerprinting.

Conduct Safety Inspections including walk-throughs at sites and inspections of Terros Vehicles;

Assist with coordinating health and safety inspections from outside agencies;  

Assist with mortality and morbidity committee meeting, including autopsy requests;

Assist with Emergency Management Planning including hazard vulnerability assessments.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 3 years, experience in either licensing, health, safety or fleet management within the health and human services industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Expertise in reading and understanding complex policies and procedures and putting them into action.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry highly preferred Physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
