The Prevention Specialist is responsible for performing outreach activities, implementing the Strategic Prevention Framework and the State Prevention Framework as outlined per the RFP contract requirements and making referrals when appropriate. Duties per the programs strategic plan include (but are not limited to): outreach, youth development, policy change, delivering presentations, training, community organization, capacity building and have a basic understanding of data analysis. The Prevention Specialist will also perform related duties as assigned.

• 21 years of age or older
• Minimum 3 years prevention including prevention experience or Bachelor's degree in the field with prevention experience.
• Experience in working with high risk youth populations and community member.
• Computer skills
• Valid Arizona Driver’s license in good standing
• Able to become CPR/First Aid Certified
• Able to become fingerprint certified in accordance with Arizona Department of Public Safety requirements
• Must be able to interact well verbally to the general public
• Flexibility and ability to work evenings and weekends to achieve the objectives of the program
• Willing to work with all cultures and sub-cultures in a non-judgmental and value clear manner
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
