Responsibilities

As an on-call clinician in Families F.I.R.S.T you would be responsible for providing outpatient substance abuse counseling services to parents who have a substance use disorder.  These parents also have an open case with the Department of Child Safety.  This position would require you to cover primarily substance abuse treatment groups, but may also require treatment and discharge planning.  You would coordinate services as necessary, working in collaboration with various State, Federal, and local agencies.  You will have the opportunity to work as a part of the Families F.I.R.S.T. clinical team. 

 

Position Details:

  • This position is for an on-call clinician who can primarily cover groups for the Families FIRST program.
  • The clinician could be called to any part of the valley when another clinician is ill or on vacation. 
  • The candidate who is hired for this position reports to the clinical manager at the hiring site. 
  • This position is scheduled to work any days Monday through Saturday, mornings, afternoons or evenings.  
  • There may also be some work required at a co-located site as part of the job responsibilities. 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, i.e., MA, MS, MC, MSW, in counseling, social work or similar mental health field
  • No licensure is necessary, is strongly preferred.  Eligibility to pursue licensure is required.
  • Experience in the specific area of work applied for (substance abuse treatment) strongly preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish – English) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply (preferred)
